It was wonderful to see the gang in action!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see SELECTED SHORTS in person. All four performers were wonderful, but John Cameron Mitchell gets bonus points for a virtuoso performance with a giddily surrealist text.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked, however, to find that the titles and authors of the stories are not mentioned anywhere in the printed program, or on the BAM or Selected Shorts websites. Nor were the curators who picked this beautifully varied quartet given any public acknowledgement. All honor to the actors, but let's honor the people who gave them the words to read.
My wife and I very much enjoyed seeing "Death, Sex & Money" at the BAM Harvey last night. It exceeded our expectations. Anna Sale was a terrific, thoughtful, and humorous host. Lisa Fischer was amazing. We were unfamiliar with most of the guests, but we were glad to have heard their stories, which entertained us and made us laugh.
ReplyDeleteDeath, Sex & Money was awesome. Anna Sale exceeded my expectations! She is a phenomenal host. The guests were outstanding. I enjoyed hearing all the stories and was inspired by them. Lisa Fischer was awesome! I can't wait for the next Radio Lovefest!
ReplyDeleteIt was delightful to see Garrison Keilor on Saturday! Unfortunately, the sound installation was poorly set up at the balcony. It made it very difficult for all of us to listen to the show.
ReplyDeleteGarrison is an American treasure. I get the need to retire from the day to day grind . . . but if he could sneak in an untethered performance like last Saturday night periodically - that would be incredible. This was an amazingly memorable evening. (And what a spectacular venue as well !!!)
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Garrison Keilor live though balcony is far away. I hoped it would be longer or he would have talked more, specially about Lake Woe Be Gone. But it was great especially when he finished with an audience sing along as a final bow.
